I’m a grad student living in the Midwest and I love food.  I taught myself how to cook using an ancient gas stove and a single teflon pan while I was living abroad, because I was inspired by the amazing fresh produce being sold on every street corner.  These days I have a much bigger selection of cooking implements to work with, and a vegetarian husband who doesn’t mind being my recipe guinea pig, but I still find a lot of my inspiration in the fresh fruits and vegetables at the farmer’s market and grocery store.

Oh yeah, and every time I make rice it boils over.  Every. Single. Time.
